Twisty MINI
Twisty Mini began as a small, self-initiated project: a line of shirts for MINI Cooper enthusiasts shaped by the culture and history of the cars themselves. At events, most available merchandise felt generic or promotional. I wanted something that reflected the character of the community — playful, mechanical, and deeply tied to driving.
The brand combined hand-drawn illustration and graphic typography across a series of designs that referenced rally heritage, regional gatherings, and shared experiences within the MINI world. Each shirt stood on its own, but together they formed a recognizable voice — equal parts motorsport, humor, and enthusiast lore.
The line was sold directly to the community through a dedicated site, circulating informally among owners and clubs. Over several years, the designs became familiar artifacts within the culture they celebrated.
The project eventually concluded when MINI USA restricted independent merchandise featuring the vehicles. Even so, the work persists in use and memory — small objects carried forward by the community that inspired them.
